4.000.000 UK Small Businesses damaged and inconvenienced

In an unbelievable display of ” We could not care less about our customers“, the Royal Mail workers are on strike, for five (5) days. Small business is set to suffer the most, and will have to foot a hefty bill for this madness.

As usual in these cases, one side blames the other – the truth is both sides are to blame as usual. I can only urge all small businesses, like SOHO-, SME, SMB-, Micro-, Lifestyle-, Home-, DIY-, Hobby-, Boomer- or Personal businesses, like professional, contractors, freelancer, self-employed, sole-trader and virtual assistants, to find a new service provider for their mail and parcel services.

We seem to be getting back to the bad old days in the 21st.-century United Kingdom. Some say this is typical of a Labour Party run country, some say it is a sign of failing and outdated infrastructure concepts. At this point I must say I don’t really care why it is happening, the fact that it is happening is completely outrageous. One thing is for sure the government is most certainly – as a shareholder of the Royal Mail – in part to blame for this mess. Lets hope Mr. Brown will call an election soon, so he can pay the price for his part in the dismantling of a great British institution.

Not so long ago we had an equal display of incompetence, selfishness and outright disregard for the public’s needs, when the London Underground went on strike.

If it carries on like this, then we will not have to worry about any possible recession, since we all be shut for business anyway. ST.
