I have taken to tweeting lately, it is a great networking tool, you have 140 characters to tell the world what you are doing. So I ask myself, ‘how would you tell others ‘in a tweet” what your small business does?’
One of the points I always make when giving speeches about small business is to have a tag-line for you business. You know the question, “What do you do?” or “What does your business do?”. Now imagine you have 10 seconds or only a tweet to tell someone.
That is our ‘tweet’ or tag line, if you will. This will give anyone enough information to make further enquiries – the best you can hope for in these circumstances. You need to focus on the core business message, in the hope that you conversation partner will give you more time to explain, in which case you have a foot in the door. If there is no interest, then you don’t need to waste your time anymore.
So tell me, what is your “tweet’? — ST.
