Will the UK economy handle another shock?

This economic recovery seems to be particularly fragile in the UK, despite it now being five years since the original crash. The stock market jitter last week served as a reminder that it probably would not take much to derail the economy once again.

We can’t predict where the next shock will happen – it could be a country leaving the Eurozone or perhaps another banking crisis – but it seems likely that it would create another recession in the UK and some analysts do expect this to happen, sooner rather than later.

To find out what the general public think about this recession, the BBC interviewed people at Southend pier during half-term and you can read their responses at the link below.
