If you own a small or micro business in the UK, a new Government initiative wants to you to adopt electronic invoicing as part of your business practices.
After excellent results experimenting with e-Invoicing in a number of local authorities and NHS trusts, the Government plans to roll out electronic invoicing across the board for public procurement and they think it would be great if the rest of us followed suit.
They won’t be mandating e-Invoicing just yet, but they feel that greater efficiency savings are possible if more firms adopt this technology.
Their report advises that the invoicing software be easy to use and the pricing is flexible to suit the needs of diverse businesses. The UK National e-Invoicing Forum believe that widespread adoption of e-Invoicing could lead to a staggering £4-6bn of annual savings in public sector procurement – something we can all get behind!
