Nuisance callers face App revenge

Tired of wasting time answering PPI calls? Fed up with learning yet again of an accident you can claim for, yet it never happened?

According to a recent Which? Survey, the volume of unwanted phone calls has become more than just a nuisance – especially for people trying to run small businesses. So I was heartened to learn about a Leeds-based man’s solution to the problem. Paying £10 + VAT, Lee Beaumont installed an 0871 landline meaning he earned money every time he received an unwanted call. To date, the initiative has pocketed him over £300.

Unfortunately, the Premium Pay Regulator (Phone Pay Plus) has warned against consumers following Mr Beaumont’s initiative. So how should unwanted calls be best tackled in future?

Time for a SuperApp

Entrepreneurs thrive where problems exist. So surely there’s an opportunity for the development of an app that not only filters and answers incoming calls but can also be pre-programmed (by you using a range of voices) with its own appropriate questions and responses?

So without having to waste any time you can be completely frank with your views about PPI, accident claims or whatever the irrelevant issue may be. Nuisance callers will soon get the picture and will stop bothering you. Deluxe versions of the app should even allow the call to be recorded so you can listen to the hapless caller at a time to suit you.

For the record Google has developed an ‘Auto Answer the Phone App’, so the technology is closer than we might think.
