Today’s infographic is a case study of a business that started with a corporate culture of teleworking (mainly out of necessity) and kept it in place even as the company grew into a $1 billion concern.
That company is Automattic and – even if the name might not be familiar – you will almost certainly have heard of one of their products called WordPress. This blog and 19 percent of the entire Internet runs on WordPress.
Just like many online ventures, right from the beginning they knew that there was no need for them to build a physical infrastructure and this enabled them to work with top talent from all over the world.
Employees communicate through email, Skype and social media and even receive a stipend to decorate their home office.
It is great to see that such a big company is able to embrace the whole working from home ethos so fully!
