“Business leaders must not cling to old ways of doing business, or allow inertia or complacency to prevent them from making the decisions that they will eventually be forced to make.” – Patricia Hewitt, British government minister
Complacency is one of the biggest causes of problems for businesses as they grow. Unlike in the early days when they often had to make decisions quickly based on instinct just to survive, without the threat of immediate extinction they have far too long to contemplate making a change.
As an entrepreneur, working on instinct often results in good decision-making and the more often you have to do it then the more naturally it will come to you. Once decisions are made by committee you start to lose the vitality of entrepreneurship and also perhaps start to question your own decisions too much instead of trusting your gut.
