Excellent post! I love it. Very nice and simple points. Thinking more about how we develop and produce content is a very critical component to any business.

I have to agree with Lloyd. Simplification, depending on what your site is about, may not give the searcher enough information to cross the line. Lists, FAQ format, lessons learned are always informative when webmasters make it personal. It adds some curiosity as well to whether the person knows what they are talking about through the list method.

Elegant in its simplicity, Stefan. Thanks for posting. #3, "avoid using jargon," is a particularly common trap for those of us who do the business all the time. We assume that everyone speaks our language! It has inspired me to start blogging about the jargon itself. Topics that might help users figure out what the buzz words mean.

These are good tips. The only thing I can think of to add is to write for the web; use of headings, bullet points or numbering to make it easier for readers to scan the text.

Brainstorm the day before you plan to write and pick your next topic of discussion at that time. This allows one to spend all his time writing and actually accomplishing his goals when it comes time to write the article and increases the chances for his success.

Simple and effective. However, this raises a question: to what extend do you think we can transform our content into a... product (that is into something our potential clients/readers know exactly what it is before actually pursuing it)? The idea is that,in general, people are flexible and reading a very precise structure over and over again may lead to boredom. So I wonder if simplifying is always a good option.
