Generation Y – also commonly known as Millennials – is the title given to the age group of people spanning from those born in the early 80s to the early 2000s.
A lot of the people in this age bracket are now firmly in the workplace, with some of them having worked for well over a decade already.
The common perception among the older generation and often portrayed in the media is that the Millennials are quite lazy, narcissistic and entitled.
But the reality is that Generation Y’s desire to avoid sitting in an office cubicle and working to someone else’s schedule is likely to create a new golden era of entrepreneurship over the decades ahead.
